The EU Green Deal includes bold promises to vastly reduce the damage done by health-harming pesticides, both in the EU and beyond. But big pesticide corporations and their lobby groups are pushing hard to counter those initiatives.
A new video published today by Corporate Europe Observatory (CEO), with support from the Health and Environment Alliance (HEAL), PAN Europe, PAN Germany, Public Eye, Global 2000 and foodwatch, explains how:
- Toxic pesticides that are banned in the EU are still being produced and exported to other parts of the world.
- Residues of pesticides banned in the EU are still being imported in food.
- Free trade deals are another instrument for pesticide corporations and EU trade partners to undermine the EU’s Green Deal ambitions.
